General Terms and Conditions AdventureRooms Nord GmbH

1. Conclusion of contract

Reservations can be made via the reservation form on the website www.basel.adventurerooms.ch or by email to basel@adventurerooms.ch or by WhatsApp on +41 (0)61 229 12 24. A reservation is only valid once it has been confirmed by AdventureRooms Basel by email or WhatsApp. By making a reservation, the participant accepts the general terms and conditions of AdventureRooms Nord GmbH.

2. Benefits

Our services are set out in the service description on the website. Special requests on the part of the participants or additional agreements are only part of the contract if they have been confirmed in writing and without reservation by the booking office. The services of AdventureRooms Nord GmbH begin with the arrival of the participants at the AdventureRooms location. Each participant is responsible for arriving on time. Please note that the time slots are reserved separately for each group and the room is prepared accordingly. In the event of late arrival, the entitlement to the paid service is forfeited.  There is no entitlement to a replacement service.

3. Prices and terms of payment

The prices for the events are listed online in the "Costs" section or, if necessary, are agreed directly with the participants for larger groups. Unless otherwise agreed, prices are per person in Swiss francs. The prices valid on the day of the event shall apply. A deposit must be paid when booking online. The remainder is paid in cash on site. 

4. Number of participants and minimum age

The maximum number of participants per game is 12. Larger groups are only possible by prior arrangement. The minimum age for participation in AdventureRooms Nord GmbH is 9 years. Persons under the age of 16 may only participate if accompanied by an adult. AdventureRooms is not suitable for people with claustrophobia, panic attacks, discomfort in narrow and dark rooms or similar.

5. Terms of use

Participation is at the participant's own risk. Insurance is the responsibility of the participants or their legal representatives if they are minors. Participants are fully liable for any damage they cause to equipment and objects.

Photography and filming of any kind within the AdventureRooms course is prohibited. The instructions of the game master must be followed at all times. It is not permitted to copy puzzle ideas or to recreate puzzles in whole or in part at another location without the permission of AdventureRooms Nord GmbH.

6. Change regarding registration or cancellation of participation (cancellation)

Once a legally valid contract has been concluded in accordance with section 1, a change or transfer of the booking is only possible if it is made at least 48 hours before the booked date and there is corresponding availability. The deposit cannot be refunded. In the event of cancellation after the expiry of this period or non-appearance at the booked time of the game, the participant will be charged the income lost by the organizer due to the blocking of the game for other groups in the form of cancellation costs. The cancellation costs amount to the total sum of the game booked by the participant; the calculation is based on the number of players recorded at the time of the binding booking.

7. Changes to the program by AdventureRooms Basel, cancellation of the event

AdventureRooms Nord GmbH reserves the right to make minor changes to the services. This has no influence on the validity or content of the subject matter of this contract. It may happen that AdventureRooms Basel has to cancel an event or cancel a booking. In this case, the participant will be informed immediately and an equivalent offer will be made. If the participant is unable to accept this offer, he/she is entitled to a refund of the price paid. Claims for further compensation for expenses or losses are excluded.

Entry to the AdventureRooms Basel event may be refused to participants (group or individual group members) without stating any further reasons if they are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs or behave in any other unacceptable manner, in particular if they are not attentive when the rules of the game are explained at the beginning. In this case, there is no entitlement to a refund. If Adventures Nord GmbH has the impression that the participants are using violence and willfully destroying the equipment, or are not following the rules stated at the beginning, the game may be terminated. In this case, there is no entitlement to a refund.

8. Force majeure

If the event has to be canceled due to force majeure, there is no entitlement to compensation. Force majeure are events that AdventureRooms Nord GmbH could neither foresee nor avert. These include in particular: war, terrorism, political unrest, natural disasters, nuclear events, fire/water damage or similar events.

9. Liability

Insurance is the responsibility of the participants. AdventureRooms Basel ensures that the agreed services are provided with appropriate care and knowledge.

AdventureRooms Nord GmbH accepts no liability for direct or indirect damages such as injuries of any kind, deaths, losses (e.g. pleasure not experienced) or similar. AdventureRooms Nord GmbH also accepts no liability for services provided to third parties.

10. Data protection

During the game, the group is accompanied in real time by a so-called game master with the help of video cameras installed in the rooms. These only serve to keep the game master informed about the current progress of the group's game and, if necessary, to provide tips in the sense of assistance. The images are not saved, transferred to other screens or used for other purposes. The game masters photograph the groups after the game on a voluntary basis. These photos can be published on the company's own website and on social media channels after consultation with the group.

11 Applicable law and place of jurisdiction

The exclusive place of jurisdiction for any disputes is the registered office of AdventureRooms Nord GmbH. Swiss law shall apply exclusively.
